SEABIL · Practical Seabil guide

Track Every Subscription in One Private Place

A subscription tracker is useful when it answers two simple questions: what have you committed to, and what does it cost over time? Seabil keeps the records you enter in one private Android overview.

Start with the recurring expenses you actually use

Streaming, software, cloud storage, gym memberships, insurance and utilities can belong in the same overview. Add the recurring commitments you want to understand rather than trying to recreate every transaction on a bank statement.

For each service, record its real price, currency, billing interval and next renewal date. A recognizable name and a current amount make the list more useful than a collection of old receipts.

Compare monthly and yearly costs without mixing currencies

A yearly membership and a monthly plan do not belong on the same footing until you consider their intervals. Seabil provides monthly and yearly totals based on the records you enter, helping you understand the recurring cost rather than only the next charge.

Different currencies remain separate. A total in euros should not silently absorb a charge in another currency through an invented exchange rate. Treat the overview as an organization tool, not a bank balance or financial advice.

Give active and archived services different roles

Categories and payment-method labels help you organize records. Labels such as a personal card or cash are descriptions only; never enter card numbers, PINs or banking passwords.

Archive an inactive service when you want to keep its history. When reactivating it, verify the billing details again. A stored cancellation note or an archived record does not cancel the agreement with the provider.

Build an overview without handing over your bank login

Manual tracking suits people who want a clear view of their commitments while keeping subscription records local. No Seabil account or bank connection is needed for core tracking.

The trade-off is deliberate upkeep: add a new service, update a changed price and check the list periodically. For the separate question of when to act before a charge, continue with renewal reminders.
